For this position, we are looking for a person who would lead the software verification efforts for embedded and connected medical device platforms.
The work includes shaping the overall testing direction, managing modern test environments, and ensuring software releases meet quality, cybersecurity, and regulatory expectations.
Depending on the tasks, the role may also involve driving automation improvements, guiding a test engineering team, and supporting compliance activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Other responsibilities would include:
- Develop and maintain the software test strategy in alignment with standards.
- Set up, manage, and continuously improve test environments such as HIL, SIL and simulation benches.
- Oversee automated regression testing, static/dynamic code analysis, and CI/CD-based verification workflows.
- Define and manage test plans, protocols and test cases across all testing levels.
- Ensure complete traceability between requirements and verification activities in tools like Polarion.
- Validate functional and non-functional requirements, including cybersecurity, performance and reliability aspects.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture and engineering teams to plan and execute focused security testing.
- Support verification of secure boot, encryption, authentication and update mechanisms.
- Lead and mentor the test engineering team, track test coverage and defect-related KPIs.
- Work closely with engineering, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to support end-to-end product compliance.
We are looking for a person with the following experience:
- Proven experience in embedded software development or testing, including a lead or managerial role.
- Strong understanding of software verification & validation processes
- Practical experience with automated testing frameworks (pytest, Robot Framework or similar).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity testing principles
- Strong skills in requirements/traceability tools (Polarion, DOORS, Jira).
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail and a structured approach to working in regulated environments.
- Ability to motivate teams and coordinate work across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
Considered as an advantage:
- Experience with testing cloud-connected or wireless-enabled systems.
- ISTQB Advanced/Expert or Certified Test Manager (CTAL-TM).
- Cybersecurity certifications (CEH, Security+, CSSLP).
